Memoirs is a vast network of communities that are created, run, and populated by Memoirs users.
Through these communities, you can post, comment, vote, discuss, learn, debate, support, and connect with people who share your interests
While not every community may be for you (and you may find some unrelatable or even offensive), no community should be used as a weapon. Communities should create a sense of belonging for their members, not try to diminish it for others. Likewise, everyone on Memoirs should have an expectation of privacy and safety, so please respect the privacy and safety of others.

Memoirs has school and career communities as default, some users could create additional communities within the default communities depending on their desire use cases and help manage the community as moderators. The culture of each community is shaped explicitly, by the community rules enforced by moderators, and implicitly, by the upvotes, downvotes, and discussions of its community members. Please abide by the rules of communities in which you participate and do not interfere with those in which you are not a member.

Aside the specific community rules on Memoirs, users on Memoirs are subject to the platform-wide rules. These rules are enforced by us.
Memoirs and all users have a moral responsibility to keep the platform generally civil and observe due decorum while we connect, relate, exist together and share set of rules.

We therefore ask that you abide by not just the letter of these rules, but the spirit as well.

Rule 1
Remember the human. Memoirs is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Everyone has a right to use Memoirs free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence. Communities and users that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.

Rule 2
Keep it legal, and avoid posting illegal content or soliciting or facilitating illegal or prohibited transactions.

Rule 3
Your real name or personal email address must be used on Memoirs to enable the authentication from your school manager where necessary.

Rule 4
Don’t impersonate an individual or an entity in a misleading or deceptive manner.

Rule 5
Abide by community rules. Post authentic content into communities where you have a personal interest, and do not cheat or engage in content manipulation (including spamming, vote manipulation, ban evasion, or subscriber fraud) or otherwise interfere with or disrupt Memoirs communities.

Rule 6
Respect the privacy of others. Instigating harassment, for example by revealing someone’s personal or confidential information, is not allowed. Never post or threaten to post intimate or sexually-explicit media of someone without their consent.

Rule 7
Do not post or encourage the posting of sexual or suggestive content involving minors.

Rule 8
Ensure proper content labeling in communities, particularly content that is graphic, sexually-explicit, or offensive. This gives users a predictable experience on Memoirs

Rule 9
Don’t do anything that interferes with normal use of Memoirs platform.

We have a variety of ways of enforcing our rules, including, but not limited to
Effective July 12, 2023.

Memoirs is a product managed by Speedview Communications Limited.
Memoirs believe that privacy is a right. Our focus is to empower a post-secondary or high school community networking experience with the users’ alma-mater on a real time basis. Our users are therefore pre-named or identified as affiliates of schools or organizations that exist within the Memoirs community.

This privacy policy emphasizes how and why Speedview Communication Limited. (“Memoirs,” “we” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our sites, mobile apps, widgets, and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”) or when you otherwise interact with us or receive a communication from us.

We collect minimal information that can be used to identify you by default. Virtually all our (“Memoirs”) users are connected to or affiliated to a particular school or organization at a point in time of their life. Hence, our users by default need to create an account at Sign-up into the app. Some users profile sign-up with OTP and some users sign-up with QR code provided by us. However, if you want to just browse, you don’t need an account. If you want to create an account to connect on Memoirs, we would require you to confirm your identity; real name, phone number and email address. We don’t automatically track your precise location.

You can share as much or as little about yourself as you want in your editable personal profile. You reserve the right to delete your information from Memoirs. Any data we collect is used primarily to provide our services, which are focused on allowing users to come together and form communities, the vast majority of our expectations are users’ productive collaborations. If you have questions about how we use your data, you can always ask us for more information.

When you use Memoirs, you may provide other information depending on your user profile on Memoirs. We may request you to confirm an OTP or scan a QR code before you can create a user account on Memoirs. You may also provide other optional information, such as gender, age, location, or profile picture. This information is optional and may be removed at any time. We may ask for such information prior to you creating a username or account to help improve Memoirs user experience.
